Why subscribe?
For the past few years I’ve been writing about the culinary scene in my adopted home of Los Angeles. That writing resulted in a restaurant guide, published in 2019, entitled LA By Mouth: The Essential Guide To Eating In Los Angeles. That same year I co-created, co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in the digital series The Horse’s Mouth, a fictional take on my time writing that book.
Then COVID hit (perhaps you’ve heard of it?) and I was stuck inside my home like 7 billion other people who can’t afford to rocket around the Earth. I missed eating in restaurants. I missed writing about eating in restaurants (the Postmates experience is usually the same: me, in dirty sweats, looking for some sap who’s been circling the block for ten minutes). Most of all, I longed to be funny on camera again (some might say they’re still waiting for me to be funny on camera).
